Karmanos Cancer Institute at McLaren Greater Lansing reaches 50% completion
It’s hard to believe that this month marks one year since we broke ground on the new Karmanos Cancer Institute and Outpatient Care Center.
The building is more than 50 percent complete and will be opening with the main hospital in just 12 short months.
“We have over 80 tradespeople include electricians, plumbers, mental stud carpenters, pipe fitters, carpenters, brick layers, sheet metal contractors and more working in a sequencing model to meet maximum efficiency but avoid having too many tradesmen in the same area increasing the risk of COVID-19 transmission,” said Greta Soderman, Project Director for Kramer Management Group.
The sequencing model is just one of the many changes the crews have had to adopt since COVID-19. However, with great innovation and leadership working around COVID-19 hasn’t slowed progress on the Cancer Center and Outpatient Care Center.
